Straw Hat is a cosmetic head item, examine text "Fit for a scarecrow". It carries no combat stats — it is absent from the client's equipment stat manifest, which only holds items with stat bonuses.

It is one of the two rare cosmetic drops added by the 2026-07-07 Patch; the other is the Hamburger Hat.

How to Obtain

Reported, unconfirmed: the Straw Hat drops from level 60 Giants (as heard, 2026-08-28 — no first-hand kill recorded, and no drop has been witnessed on this wiki).

This is recorded as a lead rather than a fact, but it is a plausible one. The 2026-07-07 Patch that introduced the hat announced "two new rare cosmetic drops" in the same notes as a "high level monster rebalance", and the Giant at combat level 60 is the highest-level ordinary monster documented on this wiki outside the eastern Dragon chain. A rare cosmetic dropping from a high-level monster fits that patch's shape.

Note the sibling item resolved differently: the Hamburger Hat turned out to be rare Apparel Shop stock as of the 2026-08-26 Patch, not a drop. That does not rule the Giant lead out — the two cosmetics were announced together but need not share a source, and the Hamburger Hat only became shop stock a month later — but it does mean the pair should not be assumed to work the same way.

Datamine Notes

Not present in the item catalog as of 2026-07-05; first seen in the public item API on 2026-07-08 (item id 316), following the 2026-07-07 Patch's "two new rare cosmetic drops" announcement — this is very likely one of those two drops (the other being Hamburger Hat, id 315; the catalog grew from 129 to 131 items between the two dates). No combat stats — absent from the client's equipment stat manifest, consistent with a purely cosmetic item.

Re-checked 2026-08-28: still id 316, unchanged, still absent from the stat manifest. The catalog has since grown to 159 items. The API carries no drop-source field for any item, so it cannot say where the hat comes from — drop tables are server-side and have never appeared in client data (see the capture notes).
