Woodcutting
Woodcutting
Woodcutting tracks axes, trees, logs, and the materials that feed fletching and cooking. Logs are cut with an axe and then burned for Firemaking XP, or used in Fletching/Crafting to make bows and shafts.
Known XP Values
| Tree | Log Yielded | Woodcutting XP | Level Requirement | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tree | Log | 20 | Unconfirmed | Verified in-game, July 2026 |
| Oak tree | Oak Log | 35 | Unconfirmed | Verified in-game, July 2026 |
Yields, separately from XP:
| Tree | Location | Logs per chop | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ordinary tree | Cow field, grass zone | 1 × Log | Verified in-game, 2026-08-28 |
| Dracaena | South of Apache, desert | 2 × Log | Verified in-game, 2026-08-28 |
Yield differs by tree, not just XP
Dracaena trees, south of Apache in the desert, give two Logs per chop — against one Log from the ordinary green level-1 tree by the cow field in the grass zone (verified in-game, 2026-08-28). Both drop the plain Log; there is no Dracaena-specific wood.
That makes the Dracaena the best-known source of ordinary Logs by a factor of two, and it is the first node on this wiki documented to yield more than one item per action — every other node recorded so far gives a single item. Whether the Dracaena carries its own level requirement, and what XP it gives, are unrecorded.
Which specific tree-node page corresponds to each tier is not yet confirmed — the game's seed data has several differently-named tree node pages (see Resource Nodes); this table intentionally stays generic ("a tree" / "an oak tree") until a node-specific screenshot resolves the mapping. Cherry trees are located — by the bubba bass fishing spot, slightly north of the Elemental Altar in the grass zone (verified in-game, July 2026; see Cherry Log) — but their level and XP remain unrecorded. Glacial Log's tree tier is still uncharted.

Cursed roots
The Halloween quest Jack's Little Gardening Job adds a new kind of thing to chop: the cursed growth in Jack's garden, cut with the Shadowfang Axe (added by the 2026-10-26 Patch). The client has three choppable types:
- Root knots — thin roots.
- Heart roots — large swollen roots.
- Feeder roots — blight pods.
A cut root leaves a severed root and a cut pod leaves an opened pod behind. Both can only be inspected.
The same patch also fixed "gathering tools disappearing during certain chopping animations".
Help verify Woodcutting level and XP for the cursed roots, whether they need Shadowfang specifically, and how many must be cut Accepted evidence: chopping them during the quest.

Unconfirmed Node: "Pine Tree"
The client's model registry lists a "Pine Tree" node alongside the already-catalogued Oak, Cherry, and Glacial trees (same chop verb), but no matching log item exists anywhere in the item catalog — nothing like a "Pine Log" is seeded, and no corresponding tree has been found or chopped in-game. This reads as unused or unplaced developer content rather than a confirmed resource; it is noted here only as an open anomaly, not as a known farmable tree worth searching for.
