Overview

The Shadowfang Axe is Jack's axe, given to you partway through the Halloween quest Jack's Little Gardening Job. You get it after trick-or-treating for Jack, and need it to clear the cursed roots from his garden. Added by the 2026-10-26 Patch.

It's untradeable, and the item record marks it as destroyed rather than dropped if you drop it.

Stats

Shadowfang has exactly the same stats as a Bronze Axe (client data, 2026-10-26):

So it's a novelty, not an upgrade. Its examine text says it cuts wood as well as the cursed roots, so it should also work as an everyday axe.
