SankoQuest Wiki: Style guide

Use this guide when adding facts, proof, screenshots, redirects, and short guide prose. The goal is stable game knowledge that another contributor can check.

Evidence Rules

  • Add one verified fact at a time when possible.
  • Accept gameplay screenshots, official data, public API rows, reviewed reader captures, curator notes, and on-chain proof.
  • Do not add live prices, drop rates, XP rates, effects, quest rewards, requirements, or spawn timing without direct evidence.
  • If a fact is likely but not proven, leave {{MissingData}} or {{BountyPrompt}} instead of guessing.

Citations

  • Use <ref>...</ref> for prose claims that need a source.
  • Add <references /> near the end of guide or help pages that use refs.
  • For structured facts, prefer {{SourceEvidence}} when the proof belongs to a specific page, field, or row.
  • Keep citation text short: source, date if known, and what it proves.

Template Field Ownership

  • Bot/API-owned fields include public item IDs, item names from the catalog, stackable flags, datamine IDs, model paths, and render paths.
  • Contributors can add verified prose, locations, source notes, evidence rows, screenshots, shop stock review notes, drops, routes, and guide methods.
  • Do not rewrite a bot-owned template block to change page layout. Add human notes below the template or use the existing section templates.
  • Keep verification_status accurate. Use status badges to separate datamine candidates from gameplay-verified facts.

Page Names and Redirects

  • Use the player-facing name as the page title.
  • Use exact capitalization from the game when known.
  • Create redirects for common plurals, abbreviations, and alternate capitalization.
  • Do not create raw-ID pages unless there is no player-facing name.

Uploads and Screenshots

  • Prefer clear screenshots that show the UI, location, item, NPC, shop, drop, or proof being cited.
  • Name uploads by subject and purpose, for example Air Shard inventory proof.png or Buns Kev shop stock.png.
  • Do not crop away context needed to verify the claim.
  • Avoid uploading duplicate images when an existing file already proves the same fact.

Before Saving

  • Preview the page and check that infoboxes, tables, sprites, and missing-data boxes still fit.
  • Link exact item, NPC, shop, location, mob, and skill pages.
  • Mention the source or template changed in the edit summary.
  • If the proof is incomplete, add or keep an open task on SankoQuest:Open bounties.
