Uploaded files disappearing from storage

4 of the 8 images uploaded on 5 July are now missing from storage: their /w/images/ URLs redirect to the Main Page and thumbnails render "Error creating thumbnail: File missing" — File:World map overview.png, File:Skill panel.png, File:Quest journal.png, File:Afroman quest complete dialogue.png, plus File:Dexedrne radbro.png. All rendered correctly after upload; the deletion log is empty, so this looks like the upload directory not persisting across a restart. Re-upload is blocked by fileexists-forbidden. I have all the originals and can re-upload once storage is fixed or the records are cleared. — dexedrne

Update: which files 404 changes between requests — the same URL alternates between serving the image and an HTML redirect. Looks like uploads land on one instance's local disk behind a load balancer rather than shared storage. — dexedrne
