Overview

Minion Skirt is a blue leg skirt, item id 83. Its examine text reads "A blue skirt worn by Mystics of the Eye" — the only reference anywhere in the game's item data to a group called the Mystics of the Eye. Nothing else is known about them; no NPC, location, or quest on this wiki mentions them.

Category: equipment-legs

It is the renamed form of the item this wiki also documents as Mystic Skirt. See below — the rename has had a side effect worth knowing about.

This item is the former "Mystic Robe"

Item ids 82 and 83 are named Minion Skirt and Minion Skirt in the game's live item catalog. The same two ids are named Mystic Robe and Mystic Skirt in the client's equipment stat manifest, and their bank notes are likewise filed as Mystic Robe (noted) (1000082) and Mystic Skirt (noted) (1000083).

So the items were renamed Mystic → Minion at some point, and the stat manifest and the note names were not updated with them.

The stats currently do not apply

This is the part that matters in play. The client looks an item's stats up by its live name, falling back only to the name with a trailing " (t)" removed. The live name is "Minion Skirt", which is not a key in the manifest, so nothing is found.

The stat block sitting under "Mystic Robe" — +3 magic attack, +1 magic strength, +8 magic defence, with melee defence penalties — therefore applies to nothing. As the data stands, wearing a Minion Skirt appears to give no bonuses at all, despite a full magic-armour stat block existing for it.

The same is true of Minion Robe (+5 magic attack, +2 magic strength, +11 magic defence).

This is read from client data and has not been confirmed in-game. The check is simple: equip a Minion Skirt and see whether the magic bonuses on the equipment screen move. If they do not, the orphaned stats are confirmed; if they do, the server applies stats by id rather than by name and only the client display is affected.

Note that Mystic Hat (id 97) is not affected — it kept its name in both the catalog and the manifest, so its stats resolve normally.

Help verify whether Minion Skirt and Minion Skirt actually confer their magic bonuses in-game, and who the Mystics of the Eye are Accepted evidence: equipment screen before and after equipping the robe.
