Overview
The Ogre Shield is an offhand shield introduced by the 2026-10-02 Patch, built from pieces guarded by Fudna The Hoard Keeper, the roaming NPC that patch added. The notes describe it as "a shield fit for facing dragons".
It is the first item on this wiki with a damage-reduction effect, and the first whose effect is a stated percentage: it reduces damage taken from dragons by 25% while equipped.
That 25% is not just flavour text. The client's equipment manifest carries a dragonProtection field set to 25 on this item, and on no other item in the game — so the effect is a real, implemented stat rather than a description someone wrote.

Unusually for a shield, it carries no negative stats at all — every value is positive. Compare Steel Kiteshield, which has a magic-attack penalty.
How to Obtain
Assembled from four components, all added in the same patch:

So the route reads: obtain both halves, join them into the unfinished shield, then add the handle. The patch notes say Fudna guards "pieces" of the shield, which fits the two halves — where the handle comes from is not stated.
None of this assembly has been done in-game and recorded here. The order above is read from the item descriptions, which state it explicitly, but the actual interaction, any skill requirement, and where each piece drops are all unknown.

Gameplay Notes
The 25% dragon reduction is aimed at content this wiki already documents: the Dragon at combat level 81 on the island summit east of the grass zone, and the level-45 Lil Dragons before the wooden bridge. This is the first gear made specifically for that fight.
