Bank Notes

From SankoQuest Wiki

Overview

Bank notes are stackable paper stand-ins for items, added by the 2026-10-02 Patch: "Banks now let you withdraw eligible items as stackable notes for easier carrying and trading."

A note is a separate catalog item named after the item it represents — for example Log (noted) — and because notes stack, a hundred of them take one inventory slot instead of a hundred.

How notes are built

The system is simple and completely regular, and the game's own data shows the rule exactly.

Every note's item id is the base item's id plus 1,000,000. Log is id 8, so Log (noted) is 1000008. This holds for all 159 notes in the catalog with no exceptions. The client ships the constant itself, NOTED_ITEM_ID_OFFSET = 1000000, along with two helpers: one that tests whether an id is a note (id >= 1000000) and one that converts a note back to the item it represents (id - 1000000).

Every note is category misc and stackable, and its description is always "A bank note for <item>."

Notes are drawn as the base item's icon on a shared note background, which is why a stack of noted logs still looks like logs.

Which items can be noted

159 of the game's items have notes. The rule behind "eligible items" is visible in what was left out:

Items that already stack do not get notes — there would be no point. That covers all arrows and arrowheads, every shard, Coins, Feather, Arrow Shaft, Headless Arrow and Bundle of Sticks.

Beyond those, exactly one non-stacking item has no note:

  • Rusty Key — the Desert Adventure quest key, which is untradeable and destroyed on drop. A bound quest item being excluded makes sense.

So the rule is clean: everything that does not already stack can be noted, except the quest key.

An earlier version of this page also listed Minion Robe and Minion Skirt as unexplained exclusions. That was wrong. Both do have notes — the notes are simply filed under the items' old names, Mystic Robe (noted) (id 1000082) and Mystic Skirt (noted) (id 1000083), matching ids 82 and 83. The mismatch is part of a wider naming fault described on Minion Robe.

Help verify whether Minion Robe and Minion Skirt are deliberately excluded from banknoting or simply missed, and whether notes can be traded, sold to shops, or converted back outside a bank Accepted evidence: trying to note them at a bank in-game.

Gameplay Notes

The patch note frames notes as being "for easier carrying and trading", and the stacking is the whole point — a trade or a trip that would have needed many slots now needs one per item type.

What the client does not settle: whether a note can be un-noted anywhere other than a bank, whether notes can be sold to shops, and whether they can be equipped or used (almost certainly not, since they are category misc, but that is inference). None of this has been tested in-game.
