Overview

SankSwap is SankoQuest's player-to-player trading exchange — the game's equivalent of a grand exchange. Players post buy and sell offers for items at a price of their choosing, and the exchange matches them against other players' offers. Offers keep trading while you are away: you can post an offer, leave, and collect the results later.

It opened with the 2026-10-15 Patch in a purpose-built trading plaza north of Green Town (verified in-game, 2026-10-15). The plaza's own sign calls it SankSwap · Green Town Exchange.

The trading plaza

The plaza is an octagonal stone trading floor surrounded by open limestone arcades. Inside (client data, 2026-10-15):

  • a main quote tower with an opening bell, and west and east trading posts — the market boards where current prices are read
  • a bank and collection counter
  • the SankSwap Deposit Box
  • waiting benches, and an entrance sign

On the world map it has its own "exchange" marker at (340, 222) and a "SankSwap" label at (340, 205).

Staff

Six kinds of staff work the plaza. Only some of them do business; the rest are there for the setting.

Staff Right-click options Look
Exchange clerk Exchange, Collect, History White shirt, green accountant visor and sleeve garters, dark tie, trading ledger
Senior broker Exchange, Collect, History White hair, spectacles, navy coat, red tie
Exchange partner Exchange, Collect, History A variant of the senior broker: silver swept hair, charcoal pinstripes, brass watch
Banker Bank, Collect Silver hair, spectacles, ivory shirt, green visor, burgundy bank ledger
Exchange guide — Warm sage jacket and brass badge; "the welcoming face of SankSwap"
Floor runner — Copper hair, rolled sleeves, sage shirt, order folio
Boardkeeper — Dark hair in buns, white blouse, green visor, quote ledger

So to trade, talk to a clerk or a broker; to bank, the banker.

How trading works

The rules below are read from the exchange's own interface code (client data, 2026-10-15). The prices themselves are live and server-side.

Offer slots

You have a fixed number of offer slots, each holding one offer. The screen shows how many are in use ("n / m in use"). When all are full you must collect finished results to free one: "All offer slots are in use. Collect finished results to free a slot." You get 8 offer slots (verified in-game, 2026-10-16). The number is set by the server rather than the client, so it could change.

Buying

A buy offer names an item, a quantity, and a maximum price per item. The Gold for the whole order is held when the offer is placed.

  • You never pay more than your maximum — "Offers trade at your price or better."
  • If matches come in cheaper, the difference is refunded to the slot for collection: "Any unspent Gold is returned for collection."
  • You need the Gold in your inventory to place the offer.

Selling

A sell offer names an item, a quantity, and a minimum price per item, before tax. The items are held when the offer is placed.

  • You never sell below your minimum, and may sell above it.
  • Only tradeable items in your inventory can be offered. Untradeable items are refused: "This item cannot be traded on SankSwap."

Seller tax

Sales are taxed. The seller receives the sale price minus a tax, and the interface reports gross, tax and net separately ("Sale total before tax", "Seller tax deducted", "Earned after tax"). Buyers pay no tax.

The seller tax is 2% (verified in-game, 2026-10-16). A sale of 1,000 Gold pays the seller 980.

The rate isn't in the client; the server sets it, so it could change without a game update.

Partial fills, cancelling and relisting

Offers can fill gradually — the slot shows a progress bar and "x of y filled". You can cancel an offer at any time; any unfilled remainder is cancelled and the held items or Gold returned for collection. There is also a relist option to cancel the remainder and repost it at a new price in one step.

Collecting

Finished results — bought items, sale proceeds, refunds — wait in the slot until collected. You can collect at SankSwap or at any bank: "Collect your results at a bank or SankSwap." Results can go to your inventory or straight to your bank, and items can be collected as bank notes where the item allows it. Uncollected results are safe: "Your uncollected items and Gold stay safe here."

Collecting frees the slot.

Price adjustment

The price field has quick buttons for ±1 Gold and ±5% (rounded, minimum 1). The maximum price per item is 2,147,483,647 Gold.

Market boards and price guide

The market boards in the plaza show, for each item, the best buy price (highest buyers are offering), the best sell price (lowest sellers will accept, before tax), and a historical guide — the last price the item actually traded at. You must walk close to a board to read it. The boards update every 30 seconds, and the board itself notes that the guide is the last trade, not a current offer. A guide price only appears once an item has traded.

Inside the SankSwap window things move faster: your offers, and the prices shown for the item you're trading, refresh every 5 seconds while the window is open.

Market prices require being signed in; there is no public price feed.

Notes

  • SankSwap's interface is internally called the "Grand Exchange" (the client's functions are named openGrandExchange and closeGrandExchange), which confirms the RuneScape comparison was the intent.
  • The plaza's bank is a full bank, so SankSwap doubles as a bank location for Green Town's north side.
