Overview
Scorpion Carapace is a crafting material dropped by Scorpions, added in the 2026-10-02 Patch. Combined with Processed Flax at a Crafting Station, it produces Ranger armour.
This matters more than a typical new resource: it gives the Ranger set its first known source. Until this patch the only thing on record was an unconfirmed second-hand claim from 2026-07-05 that the Ranger Chestplate was the only obtainable piece of the set, and no acquisition route was documented for any of the five pieces.
How to Obtain
Dropped by Scorpions. The wiki documents two scorpion populations — the aggressive combat-level-14 ones west of the desert bank in the copper and tin mining area, and those in the multi-combat zone east of the Giant Spider area. Which population drops carapaces, and at what rate, is unknown.
Uses
Bound with Processed Flax at a Crafting Station to make Ranger armour.
The Crafting Station is the Textile Workbench. The client maps the station type textile_workbench to the on-screen label "Crafting Station", so this is the station already documented at the desert bank in Adobe Town — the same one used to weave Flax into Processed Flax. Both halves of the recipe therefore come together at one station.
The full Ranger set is five pieces: Ranger Helmet, Ranger Chestplate, Ranger Leggings, Ranger Gauntlets and Ranger Boots. Which of them this recipe produces, and in what quantities, is not known — the client ships no recipe data at all (recipes arrive from the server when a station is opened), so only gameplay can answer it.
