Bun

From SankoQuest Wiki

Overview

A Bun is a companion pet, added by the 2026-10-15 Patch. Buns come from the SankoPets NFT collection: a player who owns a Bun in a wallet linked to their account can bring it into the game, where it follows them, helps in fights against monsters, and gives a set of passive bonuses.

A Bun has to be fed with Pet Food to stay active, and it gets hungry over time.

Getting a Bun

Buns are not obtained in-game. They are read from your linked wallets: the game checks which SankoPets you own and lists them under Owned Pets. If you own none, the panel shows "No buns found..." and offers an "Adopt a Bun" link to the SankoPets collection on a marketplace.

A wallet can only be verified for one SankoQuest account at a time. To move it, unlink it in the other account's Pets menu first.

Ownership is re-checked. A Bun you sell or transfer stops being available ("No longer owned"), and the game says so if it can no longer verify one ("This Bun is no longer verified in your linked wallets").

Eggs

An unhatched SankoPet appears as an Egg and cannot be used as a companion. Only hatched Buns can be fed and summoned.

Using your Bun

From the Pets panel you can:

  • Feed — give it Pet Food. The quantity is capped by how hungry the Bun is; "Your Bun is too full for another food portion!" means it is full.
  • Follow — bring it out. It must be fed first.
  • Recall — send it back to rest.
  • Pet Bun — a cuddle. You must stand still near your Bun with no other action running, and there is a short cooldown between cuddles.

Buns are suspended in PvP and duel areas.

Hunger

A Bun moves through these states:

State Shown as
Never fed Feed to activate
Fed Ready to follow
Following Following
Hungry Hungry
Very hungry Very hungry
Starved Feed to reactivate — the Bun goes inactive until fed

Each portion of Pet Food fills 25% of the Bun's hunger (verified in-game, 2026-10-16), so four portions (100 Gold) fill it from empty. How fast a Bun gets hungry again is still unrecorded.

Bun skills and effects

Every Bun has six skills, each with a level, and each drives one bonus while the Bun is out:

Bun skill What it improves
Strength Bun damage
Speed Bun attack speed
Stamina Your run energy regeneration
Industry Your gathering success chance
Luck Your rare loot chance
Virtue Your out-of-combat healing

So a Bun is not only a fighter: Stamina, Industry, Luck and Virtue help you — faster run-energy recovery, better gathering, better rare drops, and healing between fights. The size of each bonus depends on that skill's level and is calculated by the server, so no figures are recorded here yet.

The Pets panel's Quest perks section shows the actual numbers for each of your Buns, and how it words them says a bit more about what each bonus does:

  • Strength — the Bun hits for a percentage of your current maximum hit, so a stronger player has a harder-hitting Bun.
  • Speed — the Bun's base attack interval, in ticks.
  • Stamina — a percentage boost to run-energy regeneration while walking or standing.
  • Industry — a percentage boost to your gathering success chance, relative to normal.
  • Luck — a percentage boost to your chance at eligible rare NPC loot, so it's about monster drops, not gathering.
  • Virtue — heals a percentage of your maximum health per minute, applied every few ticks. At low levels it can be zero: the panel then says "No passive healing at this level".

The bonuses only apply while the Bun is active and following, and not in PvP or duel areas.

Help verify how Bun skill levels translate into the six bonuses, and how fast a Bun gets hungry Accepted evidence: the Quest perks section of the Pets panel for a Bun, before and after feeding.

Varieties

The game supports 53 Bun varieties, each with its own model:

Angel, Blue, Bomber, Bricks, Buns, Bunzilian, Chikki, Choi, Cloudy, Confetti, Cowboy, Cream, Crystal, Detec, Dev, Driftwood, Earthy, Fire, Galxy, Geeny, Glass, Goldie, Gorli, Green, Hippy, Joker, Ket, Kev, Lava, Leathy, Lemuh, Lime, Mini, Nebula, Orange, Peppermint, Pipe, Pup, Purple, Purr, RaceCar, Silver, Snake, Spirit, Sproto, Strawbie, SuperBun, Tomat, Turni, Turtly, Tux, Wood, Yeti.

A few heads are also modelled separately for hats, and there is a separate Egg appearance.

Three of these names will be familiar: Detec, Kev and Orange are also the names of the desert NPCs Buns Detec, Buns Kev and Buns Orange, documented here since July. Those NPCs evidently were Buns all along. Buns Remilio's Green Town branch is also run by an "animal" NPC rather than a human one.

Combat

A following Bun fights alongside you against monsters, using its own attacks — punch, kick, run, headbutt and a low headbutt are all animated — and then, per the patch notes, "settle[s] down for a well-earned nap".
