SankoQuest:Datamine 2026-10-04

From SankoQuest Wiki

A record of the live SankoQuest client bundle and public API as read on 2026-10-04, two days after the 2026-10-02 Patch. It follows the 2026-09-03 capture.

Everything here is Unverified unless stated otherwise.

What the patch added, in data

The item catalog grew from 159 items to 340. That sounds enormous, but it splits cleanly:

Nothing was removed.

The equipment stat manifest gained exactly one entry — the Ogre Shield — going from 102 to 103.

dragonProtection: a new kind of stat

The Ogre Shield carries a field no other item in the game has: dragonProtection: 25. It appears exactly once in the whole bundle. This is the first damage-reduction mechanic recorded on this wiki, and the first effect expressed as a percentage in client data rather than in prose.

The rebalance, measured

The patch note reads "Rebalanced Ranger armour and metal gauntlets to better distinguish melee, ranged, and magic gear". Eleven items changed, and the intent is legible in the numbers. Full before-and-after table on Equipment.

Metal gauntlets are the clearer half. Every tier from Bronze to Runite previously gave a positive ranged and magic attack bonus that grew with tier — Bronze +2 ranged, Runite +8. All six have been flattened to the same values: ranged attack −1, magic attack −2. Melee armour no longer helps you shoot or cast, and the better the melee gauntlet, the better it used to be at both, which was the thing being corrected.

Ranger armour went the other way: much weaker defensively (the chestplate's slash defense falls 25 to 10), with new melee-attack penalties added, and its ranged bonuses trimmed. Ranger Boots lost most of a very large magic penalty, −10 to −1.

Chance Encounters are entirely server-side

The patch's headline additions — Fudna The Hoard Keeper, the Sankeon Colossus, the hungry wild dogs, and the Chance Encounters system itself — leave no trace whatsoever in the client.

The strings Fudna, Sankeon, Colossus and Carapace return zero hits across all 124 chunks. Searching for "encounter" finds only the English word "encountered" inside three.js error messages and a React error boundary — there is no encounter type list, no spawn logic, no state machine, no constants.

This is consistent rather than surprising: NPC names, mob stats, drop tables and spawn behaviour have been server-authoritative on this game since the first capture in July. It does mean the wiki can only document the encounters by playing them.

Crafting still ships no recipes

The Scorpion Carapace route to Ranger armour cannot be read from the client. The crafting interface receives its recipe list as server state and only computes, locally, whether you have the ingredients and levels for each one. No recipe table exists in the bundle.

The capture did resolve one thing: the client maps the station type textile_workbench to the on-screen label "Crafting Station". The station in the patch note is therefore the Textile Workbench already documented at the Adobe Town bank — the same station that weaves Flax into Processed Flax, which is the other half of the recipe.

The world map's legend

The map added in the 2026-09-03 Patch marks eight kinds of location:

Marker Internal icon
Mining mining_spot
Fishing fishing_spot
Rare Tree rare_tree
Bank bank
Quest Start quest_start
Minigame minigame
Mixnometry Altar mixnometry_altar
Crafting Station crafting_station

Two of these point at things this wiki cannot currently name. Minigame — no minigame is documented anywhere here, and none has ever been mentioned in a patch note. Rare Tree — the tree pages record ordinary, oak, cherry, glacial and dracaena trees, with no indication which, if any, counts as "rare".

The patch-notes panel is edited in place

Worth recording as a caution about sourcing, because it affects how much weight the in-game panel can carry.

Comparing the panel's full text between 2026-09-03 and 2026-10-04 shows it is not an append-only archive. Three things changed in the history it presents:

  • A 2026-07-30 patch appeared that was simply not there a month earlier. It is now documented at 2026-07-30 Patch.
  • The entry this wiki records as the 2026-08-26 Patch changed its own date, from a header reading 08/25/26 to one reading 08/24/26. The body text is byte-identical; only the date moved.
  • The 2026-09-03 Patch has never appeared in the panel at all, a month after it shipped. Its notes came directly from the lead developer.

So the panel is first-party and quotable, but it is neither complete nor stable, and a date read from it is not final. The 2026-08-26 Patch has now carried three different dates across its sources — the day it was read in-game, then 08/25, now 08/24 — and this wiki has not renamed the page, because there is no basis for preferring the panel's current answer to its previous one.

Help verify the true release date of the patch documented here as the 2026-08-26 Patch, now that the official panel has given two different dates for it Accepted evidence: a developer statement.

Method note

One early reading in this capture was wrong and is worth recording. The fifteen Trimmed Armour pieces are absent from the equipment manifest, which on this game has always meant "no stat bonuses". Concluding that here would have been wrong: the client resolves an item's stats by falling back to the name with a trailing " (t)" stripped, so trimmed armour silently inherits its base piece's stats. Absence from a table is only as meaningful as the lookup that reads it.
